ON THE RITE OF SHOOTING AN ACTRESS IN A HOTEL FOR A MAGAZINE, WE INVITED MARTA TO THE LOCARNO.

BORN IN ALESSANDRIA, TWENTY-THREE YEAR OLD MARTA GASTINI IS ONE OF THE VERY FEW ITALIAN ACTRESSES WHO FLY TO HOLLYWOOD FOR WORK. ANTHONY HOPKINS AND JEREMY IRONS ARE SOME OF THE NAMES SHE'S WORKED WITH, THANKS TO HER GOOD MANNERS AND WELL SPOKEN ENGLISH.

THE HOTEL LOCARNO WAS FOUNDED IN 1925 AND SOON BECAME AND EXCLUSIVE REFUGE FOR ARTISTS FEDERICO FELLINI, JORGE LUIS BORGES AND LUIS SEPULVEDA. ITS INTIMATE ATMOSPHERE IS SUSPENDED IN TIME THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL FURNITURE: ITALIAN RENAISSANCE. 17TH CENTURY VENETIAN AND ART NOUVEAU.

THE OLDER WING OF THE HOTEL CONSISTS OF THE 1905 BUILDING THAT WAS ORIGINALLY THE PIED-A'-TERRE OF THE ACIENT VENETIAN DYNASTY DI CANOSSA, AND REPRESENTS A RARE EXAMPLE OF VENETIAN STYLE, ARCHITECTURE IN ROME. THE VENTIAN SUITE HAS A MAGNIFICIENT BLOWN GLASS DOOR, CRAFTED BY VENETIAN MASTERS.

NINA RICCI designed this cyclamen patchwork velvet and silk slip-dress. The deep neckline is hemmed by lace and enhanced by delicate straps.

The cyclamen velvet and lace slip-dress by NINA RICCI reveals an antique-pink lace bra with contrasting fluorescent straps by STELLA MCCARTNEY LINGERIE. The off-white petticoat worn underneath is made of satin and tulle and belongs to the MAX MARA BRIDAL collection. The delicate gold-plated jewelry come from the "Puro" line of IOSSELLIANI.

This ivory satin high brassiere is embroidered with ton sur ton lace and is featured in the ERMANNO SCERVINO LINGERIE line. A dark tweed folder skirt exposes a blood-red crêpe de chine underskirt hemmed by lace, both belong to CHANEL's "Paris-Edinburgh" collection. The look is complimented by jewelry, including a gold-plated necklace adorned with rubies, a filigree skull pendant, a silver ram head cuff embellished with turquoise and studs, and gold-plated thin rings. All designed by IOSSELLIANI. The virginal stockings are by WOLFORD.

For the LOUIS VUITTON fall/winter 2013/14 collection, Marc Jacobs combines this champagne color silk jumpsuit, adorned by see-through inserts, and the melancholy of an autumnal floral print featured on the silk skirt. The look reveals a satin bra hemmed by lace by ERES. A solitaire ring, bathed in a gold finish, hangs from a thin necklace. Both belong to IOSSELLIANI's "Puro" collection, as do the other rings.

LUISA BECCARIA designed this sublime aquamarine lace dress shaded by golden opalescence and characterized by a short cape, worn here as a virginal hood. The ivory French lace sleeves are a bridal accessory designed by ELISABETTA DELOGU. Marta's fingers are wrapped by thin gold-plated rings by IOSSELLIANI.

A nude tulle boned corset from VIVIENNE WESTWOOD ARCHIVE is layered on a black silk bra by LA PERLA. ELISABETTA DELOGU creates unique bridal pieces made entirely by hand in Sardinia: this silk paneled skirt is closed by a pearl pin and is completed by the overlapping Italian and French fine lace. The bridal allure is dramatized by the black wide-brimmed hat masterfully sculpted by YOHJI YAMAMOTO.
