GREYBOOK Volume I

A LITTLE INSANITY NEVER HURT ANYONE AND IT'S A KEY ELEMENT OF THIS SEASON'S WARDROBE, ESPECIALLY WHEN RETURNING HOME, AFTER SOME TIME AWAY. WHO WOULD SUSPECT THE BOSS'S DAUGHTER, AS SHE STROLLS THROUGH THE EAST VILLAGE IN DISGUISE? STYLE NEEDS NO ALIBI, ONLY A FAMILIAR PLACE TO FEEL SAFE AND WELCOME, WHILE DELVING INTO MOVIE SCENES WHICH INDUCED THE DEVIANT STAR TO LISTEN TO HER FATHER.

A lot can happen in a deli according to the movies, the news, and her own memories. Renata dresses for the occasion enveloped by the magistral urban layering of 3.1 PHILLIP LIM: a checkered asymmetrical suspender skirt in wool flannel cinches a tank-dress with apron skirt and utility strap, all layered over a gabardine broken line skirt. The look is completed with a minimal brass cuff by THE THINGS WE KEEP, a silver-plated cuff with gold-plated ornaments by PASCALE MONVOISIN, and the leather boots with plexiglass heel by FENDI. A stack of sterling silver rings with crystals by MANIAMANIA are worn throughout the editorial.

In New York five dollars can make you feel like you’re in a Woody Allen movie. Renata waits outside for her psychic in a seventies inspired look by LUDOVICA AMATI, comprised of a sartorial vest and a wide skirt adorned by the Shipibo motif, completed by a matching felt hat with feathers. The Georgette blouse with Chantilly lace sleeves by VERA WANG veils a silver-plated bracelet with turquoises by PASCALE MONVOISIN. The leather boots with the “ice cube” plexiglass heel by FENDI cool the look.

An early afternoon drink to calm one’s nerves demands a midnight blue lace dress, paired with a chain necklace with crystals, both by CHANEL. The gangster’s girl look is contradicted by the canvas slip-on by DIESEL, while the shell and resin clutch by EMM KUO, matching the glowing tones of the dress, blends seamlessly with the flamboyant surrounding. The gold-plated circle earrings with moonstone by PASCALE MONVOISIN are worn throughout the editorial. The first of many cocktails was courtesy of the Mother Of Pearl Tiki bar.

To occupy two seats at Odessa for some fries might be intimidating, but Renata shines in her aquamarine sequined sweater by DRIES VAN NOTEN, worn over a cascade of poppies blooming on the gauze mermaid gown by VERA WANG. The next seat is taken by her unmistakable Chuck Taylor sneakers by CONVERSE. The sterling silver bracelet with a row of Herkimer crystals is paired with the “Psychic Ring,” both by MANIAMANIA.

The birthday girl strolls through solitude embraced by a striped cashmere sweater by WOOLRICH, adorned by two enameled brooches with a central pearl by CHANEL. The velvet choker with cameo and pearl-drop pendant comes from THE SOCIETY OF VINTAGE collection.

The deviant star serenades herself with “You Know I’m No Good” at the iconic Sing Sing karaoke bar on Avenue A, while her favorite cat-eye shades by FENDI suggest the next song, “Sunglasses at Night.” She sparkles through the window in a studded cotton sweatshirt by ASHISH, worn over a fringed suede skirt by DROME.

If emotional stability can be judged by the shoes you wear, this pair says it all. A sequinned bouquet of flowers encrusts the custom-made silver boots by BABY SLICE, worn with pale pink socks by FALKE. Above, the studded cotton sweatshirt by ASHISH is worn over the fringed suede skirt by DROME, featuring pink degradè shades.

Awaiting her Uber driver, Renata lies under the neon lights wearing a viscose floral dress with a deep split by RODEBJER, worn over a creamy bra with crossing straps by LONELY LINGERIE. The floral necklace adorned by feathers by DRIES VAN NOTEN is worn as headband. The tiger haircalf lace-up boots by 3.1 PHILLIP LIM complete the feline attitude.

Feeling like the heroine in a Luc Besson movie, Renata shows her back to the NYPD in her reversible silk bomber jacket by DIESEL worn over the poppy-printed gauze gown by VERA WANG. The velvet choker with cameo ends with a pearl drop, and belongs to the collection of THE SOCIETY OF VINTAGE.
