model KID PLOTNIKOVA at WOMEN NY hair and makeup SOUHI at JED ROOT shot in THE CATSKILL MOUNTAINS
TWO HUNDRED YEARS AGO THE ERUPTION OF MOUNT TAMBORA IN THE EAST INDIES LED TO SNOWFALL IN NEW ENGLAND AND CANADA DURING JULY AND AUGUST OF 1816. NOWADAYS SHAMANS AND RUSSIAN SCIENTISTS PREDICT THE RETURN OF THE ICE AGE. ACCORDING TO THEM, GLOBAL WARMING IS THE GREATEST HOAX IN HISTORY, AND SOONER THAN LATER WE SHALL BE MOURNING SUMMER WITH LAYERS OF BLACK.
One can never be wrong in a gown. Kid wears a long muslin bustier dress with plumetis by ALEXANDRE VAUTHIER under a cotton sweater by ÉTUDES adorned with EU stars and survival waist pack by DIESEL. The fitted pants by DIESEL add an extra layer of texture (and style), leading to an all seeing eye adorning the flats by NICHOLAS KIRKWOOD worn with FALKE socks. The baseball cap by ÉTUDES and the mirrored sunglasses by ILLESTEVA would flatter also on the beach, complemented by the “Full Metal Jewels” necklace with stars and zircons by IOSSELLIANI. The gold handlet by BIJULES is a key piece of this season, preferably combined with the silver phalange cocktail ring and gold stack phalange ring, also by BIJULES.
Listening to the forest sleep, Kid is sheltered by an oversized bomber jacket by STUSSY. Under the black on black camouflage she wears plissé trousers by OFF-WHITE and LIBERTINE stockings with splashes of white paint. The bracelets with charms and tassels by MONO & ME adorn her wrist while the DIESEL beanie keeps her hair from the tangled tree branches. Anticipating the future, the mimetic NIKE trainers with snow streaks complete the look.
Kidd shot Kid’s reflection on the cold lake, creating another layer upon the look comprised of a long lace sleeveless dress by CHANEL worn over matching rain-like printed turtleneck top and leggings by NIKE. The fedora hat by HEATHER HUEY floats on the water, embedded with a visored cap by ÉTUDES, while sunk on the bottom is a precious necklace by IOSSELLIANI.
On the drier grounds, a pair of slippers by NIKE, worn with MARIA LA ROSA socks, crushes the fallen leaves.
Kid gives Kidd a dirty look as she blows a cloud of smoke, wearing a silk gauze gown layered over a zipped lycra scuba suit, both by JASON WU. The STUSSY cap shades her against the rising sun, while the reassuring hands of the ZANA BAYNE leather harness hold her back.
The cross-country journey continues, protected by a laser cut jacket by NIKE. The sunglasses by KTZ for LINDA FARROW and gloves by BURTON define the weather, while a straw head-bandage by HEATHER HUEY sets the mood. On the edge of Kidd’s framing, an openwork beaded dress by DRIES VAN NOTEN is seen underneath. Protection and laser cut reappear in the end of this look in the form of a tote bag by RODEBJER, and its seahorse dragon motif.
The Golden Child loses track of herself in the vast woods, while wearing a hoodie with hanging beads by LIBERTINE matched with stretch pants by ÉTUDES. The bracelets and the geometric cuff by IOSSELLIANI balance the look. The classic BIJULES gold “bar ring” takes the form of a line of bones. The openwork leather backpack by EMM KUO is a necessity.
On top of the hill Kid stares down the white valley, where once there was a bucolic view. The white stripes of a hooded crop-sweatshirt and the following ones on a long see-through shirt worn underneath serve as advice and lead to a long pleated skirt. All by OFF-WHITE. The gold plated necklace with zircons, worn backwards, belongs to the “Full Metal Jewels” collection by IOSSELLIANI. Layered over the hood, a black cap by DIESEL.
Kid is equipped with two backpacks by DIESEL, worn over a long high-tech hooded coat by CALVIN KLEIN COLLECTION. A hat by STETSON doubles the head insulation, while the SOREL boots mark the terrain with purpose.
The only flowers blossoming this summer belong to the printed silk gauze gown with pleats and ruches by VERA WANG, worn over mandatory leggings and socks by BURTON. A STETSON hat and a fringed bag by EMM KUO reinforce the idyllic look, contrasted by the icy grounds upon which a pair of high boots by SOREL stand stoic.
