UPSIDEDOWN

“Upside Down” is a surreal photographic experiment placing the protagonists of this reportage in the Mediterranean Sea during a dramatic event. The features of those artificially-created group of people is based on caucasian heritage.
This artistic initiative creates an alternative world with reversed roles, where the population of Europe is fleeing their countries to seek safety in Northern Africa. The aim of this project is to encourage viewers to confront their barriers in order to understand the experiences of others, showing a world in which those who are the victims become saviours.
Since it is impossible to obtain photographs of an event that never happened, artificial intelligence has been used as a reporter, capable of traveling to this imaginary parallel universe and shooting those images. The result of this journey is hyper-realistic photos that immerse viewers in a scenario designed to stimulate reflection and dialogue.
