During Paris Haute Couture Hermès opened the doors of its laboratories for the production of the maison’s signature silk scarves.

Holding Textile Hermès uses traditional handcraft techniques practiced in Lyon. A team of designers, illustrators, color experts, and printers work together in a process that includes freehand drawing on paper, serigraphy, selection of Brazilian cocoons, scoring, and the final vapor drying cycle.

Following the event, on January 23rd, Galerie Joseph hosted a presentation on the process of the realization of Hermès’s silk knots.

A school has opened in Bourgoin to ensure the continuity of the tradition of the Hermès silk knots.  Hermes also opened a school in Paris dedicated to the production of leather.
