As stated by the Abbot Sibire—inspired by Nicolas Lupot—in his book La Chélonomie ou Le Parfait Luthier, “The violin is not a simple job: it is an art.”
Patrick Arguence, a true enthusiast, has been practicing the art of creating violins for over 35 years.
Arguence opened his first shop specializing in the manufacturing and the restoration of stringed instruments in 1982. Meilleur Ouvrier de France—prized as the best craftsman in France—Arguence dedicates his life to passing on the knowledge and experience of his expertise. Every person who enters the front door of his shop benefits from Arguence’s enthusiasm for his craft. Visitors can expect to receive advice, explanations on materials—origin, quality and aging of wood—and the history of these beautiful musical instruments.
Arguence Lutherie is located at 6, Boulevard des Filles du Calvaire, 11ème arrondissement, Paris.
